So that feels-laden comic about the “ugly” cat getting adopted by the older gentleman is called Ojisama to Neko. As far as I can tell, Ojisama to Neko is an ongoing online comic that’s mostly posted to the artist’s twitter account, @sakurai_umi_. You can even see the original of the adoption comic. 

A physical manga is going to be released on February 22nd, which is Cat Day in Japan. Until then (and until we get a translated version) you can see lots more of them here
