JUST WHO CREATED THE “S” AND WHAT WAS IT’S PURPOSE?

This kinda design can be backtracked to works of deco style artists and the Bauhaus school of design and architecture from the years before WW2; where straight and geometric lines were implemented in a manner that allowed a false sense of depth in images, as observed in the 8 illusion of connection this S produces.
