POKEDDEXY CHALLENGE DAY 19

-Favorite Eeveelution-

#136 Flareon, the Flame Pokémon

Flareon, along with all of its counterparts, are based on a mix between cats and foxes. In addition, it’s fluffy mane and tail are probably based on a pomeranian.

In battle, Flareon has been the butt of many a-joke for five generations. After being nothing but a loser with a high base Attack stat, but no moves to utilize it. Now, in generation VI, Flareon has FINALLY learned Flare Blitz. A base Attack of 130 combined with that, a Toxic Orb and it’s hidden ability, Guts, is easily enough to fell most legendarys, such as Mega Mewtwo (both forms) or Xerneas.

Since you’re using Guts on a poisoned Flareon, Facade is another great choice, for when you face Water types, as an example. Quick Attack is a priority move, which is always handy to have and Will-O-Wisp can spread burns.

Flareons one major flaw is its low speed stat. Because of that, Flareon will need some support, such as being used in a Trick Room, a Sticky Web entry hazard on the opponents side of the field, or some Speed buffs Baton Passed onto it. After than, enemys beware, Flareon is here to destroy your puny ubers!

Flareon was always my favorite Eeveelution. Out of all of them, Flareon resembles Eevee the most, yet its design is very distinguishable as a Fire type.

And while we’re at the subject of Eeveelutions, Sylveons design SUCKS! If there’s any Pokémon design I outright dislike, it’s Sylveon. Good thing Flareon has the type advantage. Only goes to prove that Flareon is indeed the best Eeveelution.

Fire …type? è_é
