Just As Good
DM: “Okay, [Healer] can’t be here today, so we’re just going to say she stayed in town shopping while you went on mission.”
Ranger: “Nah. She’s here. I have a cardboard cutout of her.”
DM: “When did you make a cardboard cutout of Healer?”
Ranger: “Four sessions ago when we had the fight with the tracker. We made a cutout of her as a distraction and we’re already confirmed the party is fooled by it too.”
DM: “You kept that?”
Ranger: “It’s in my inventory.”
DM: “Roll perception to mistake a folded cardboard cutout of Healer for the real person.”
Psychic: “Actually, I’d like to use perception alteration to convince the team the cutout is the real healer.”
I suspect this is part of why the DM hates us.
