Back in 2013, Moron Supreme proposed a change to how we should handle energy business.This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move that has set the country’s economy on a straight curse downwards over the last 4 years.
The monster of the week right now is fossil fuels.
See, for the past 70-something years we’ve had the government run the whole thing, with a single state-owned company called PEMEX taking care of the whole distribution and selling.
But the infrastructure has been stagnant for a while now and they can’t effectively search for new oil sources, which is why the reform was considered, since one of many points on the reform is to make oiling a private industry again, as a way to push the exploration of new oil sources.
Right now the raise in price has everyone shaken, because anything and everything that involves land-based transportation will also see a raise of its own. People have been stocking on (read: mass-buying) gas before the prices would officially change, protests have taken place, and bloggers have whined; all in all the situation is causing inflation and it won’t settle down until proper measures are taken - ~-
