I love how the comments are all “when someone mansplains to me” or “when white people tell me something is spicy”, but wasn’t the context of this that Santiago has a bunch of brothers so she always has the urge to prove to others that she is tough, which tends to come back to bite her on the ass
like this scene in particular ends with it being a textbook example of how this behavior harms her and how she should have listened to Scully, so…okay then. Whatever floats y’all guys’ boats.

I remember when one of the bitchy sexists guys from my highschool told me to slow down on the food while we were all eating, in an attempt to humilliate me in front of everyone. I then proceeded to take another empanada and stuff it in my face without breaking eye contact with him the whole time. Never felt more powerful.
