The Hadith speaks of “Image-making in the context of aspiring to create like God” as in trying to bring an image to life by believing you’re a god, e.g; like creating idols. I don’t aspire to become like God.

Nevertheless, why is my faith subject to what I do and what I don’t do, why does it matter to people if I pursue a talent? :s

As artists we do no create, we arrange the viewable objects.

The viewer is the one who assigns “meaning” to the images, a “meaning” that in itself was also not created by neither the author nor the viewer, but taken from the context of their own known reality.

When graphic works “take life” it’s because of the “meaning” that has been assigned to them (for example, treating it like an idol), and this “meaning” is subjective as the known realities of the author and the viewers invariably differ from one another.
