A couple of seasons ago If you saw those lolita dresses with lenght below the knee it would be “ooh nice but it’s sooo not lolita try maybe mori os sth” and today it’s the lolita hottest trend.
The black and white coords and the “ita” stigma surrounding them (I often hear about it but does it even exist?) when I can show you like a million coords oldschool or newschool looking fabulous in b&w.
Or when I see a coord thats definitely not lolita, and the person wearing it is not claiming it’s lolita but lolitas be like ‘Uuugh disgusting ita how can you wear this?” guess what people can wear whatever the fuck they like and not every bell-shaped frilly dress revolves around lolita fashion.
I mean, don’t get me wrong - lolita needs guidance for coords to look neat, elegant and to have that vibe that distinguish it from other styles. But lolita fashion evolves. If any fashion doesn’t the people get bored and it dies. In my opinion lolita evolves mostly thanks to japanese brands and lolitas that seek new ideas and styles with western lolitas copying them when the trends become “official” and “safe to use” (sorry if I’m generalising here)
BONUS: Coords of JSKs looking elegant without blouses LOL how’s that even possible?
