Honestly, I don’t even understand the argument that Ash is a bad trainer because he hasn’t won any leagues. If you pay attention to the series, every league that Ash has entered, every singe one, the winner has appeared to be in their late teens/early-mid 20s.
Ash is ten years old and has made it into the top 8 in every conference since Johto. There have to be at least 400 trainers who enter the tournaments each year, and he makes it into the top 8. That’s not being an unskilled trainer.
Not like any of the people around here have won or even have qualified for an official Pokemon tournament.
Plus one of those guys was using effing legendaries, so I don’t think he should count. :|
I get that you’re a spoiled brat with no sense of life stakes to speak of, but in the world of pokemon the legendaries are never caught for one reason only: it’s fucking hard. Only very strong and skilled trainers (see: frontier brain Brandon) can achieve it .-.
