Statistically, you create a server with eight channels where a dozen or so people will idle in, two or three will say a few lines every other day in one of them, and at random one of the silent lurkers will textwall about some topic every other week.

And on the other hand, you’ll slowly start adding new icons for servers to the left of the screen until you’re on so many with so many ignored notifications and tens of thousands of unread lines you eventually just minimize the program entirely and just wait for someone to PM you directly.
