barhandarold: Asenion is any robot guided by Asimov laws. Non-asenion is therefore any robot _NOT_ guided by Asimov laws. How exactly does having a different set of laws require periodic networking?
It doesn’t. But think about this: viruses.
To ensure that the sentients remain impossible to make illegally, each engineer is required to develop at least one virus for their final exam and release it into the wild, and make them transmittable through whatever mean the robots have. There’s ways to avoid them, sure, but exactly because of that the viruses have to evolve and each new generation of engineers is awlays trying to outdo the last one
JUST GIVE IT UP ILLEGAL SENTIENTSEXUALBOTS ARE A WASTE OF TIME OK
budaclees: Oh please as if sexbots couldn't have an ai installed into them that's as good as your cloud. There's no way there wouldn't be multiple parties making these. The sexbots could easily be given sentience. Are you really gunna run that risk?
You would not believe how easy and accessible the components are if you decide to make sentients legally, all you need is your license and pretty much the whole system will work like a vending machine for you. Doing it illegaly is SO MUCH harder and in the end the fruits of your investment is far inferior to that achieved by legal means. NOW ISN’T THAT UTOPIC?
Basically there’s only 2 reasons that justify illegal sentient-robo-making: the weapons industry and illegal resource extraction. Basically for building your own nation -.-

endarkculi: Dismantled? Well, that seems harsh. That poor theoretical sexbot; it did not choose its lot in life, and yet gets the ultimate punishment for it.
Oh please they don’t feel it anyway, clandestines are always asenions since the non-asenions need to be connected every so often to the Central AC Network for their brains to work properly, which unregistered robos can’t do ù_û
endarkculi: Alright then; thank you for that clear and concise answer, Gear. No building your own sexbots. Ever. I will certainly remember that. New question, though: if an unethical individual does create a sexbot and then abandons it (perhaps due to death from a heart attack, or something), is it ethical to reprogram the robot to give it a better life? Or is it better to avoid altering whatever lewd personality it does have?
THAT THING IS CLANDESTINE YOU’RE SUPOSSED TO TURN IT IN FOR REGISTRATION AND THEN YOU’LL BE LUCKY IF IT GETS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE WORKING Or most likely gets dismatled for scrap
endarkculi: Now, here's a question for you: when wanting to romance a robot (putting aside "no sexual" or "yes sexual" for the time being, and certainly until the third date), is it better to build your own? Or is it immoral to build something mainly for relationship purposes, and one should try to woo the creation of another inventor?
Ok first that robo is your daughter you sick fuck what is wrong with you è.é
Second, WE’VE BEEN OVER THIS PEOPLE, THE ROBOSEX WILL NEVER BE OKAY IF IT’S JUST FOR THE SAKE OF SEX (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
MAKING YOUR OWN SEXBOT IS AN IDEA THEY UTTERLY OBLITERATE OUT OF YOUR BRAIN WHEN YOU GO STUDY TO BECOME A ROBOTIST, IT’S CALLED PROFESSIONAL ETHICS YA DOPE t(°□° t )
