deme actually called me a “night owl” yesterday and i didnt know what it meant because all owls are nocturnal so what makes this particular owl so special that it needs to specify that it has something to do with the night
The saying comes from a comparison, like saying “at night, she’s an owl” where you get compared to owls because they don’t sleep at night, but of course the evolution of speech removed the short words until only “night owl” remained.
