rithmatical: you're pretty much right on the money with that dirk comparison. i'm predicting some sort of metaphysical scratch with terezi preserving memories of everyone else personally, since that seems like what a seer of mind is all about

That’s too passive, to just archive all of that information and have it readily available like that. Think more active, with every passing unit of circumstantial simultaneity (CSU’s for short) adding new additional information to the “memory” of a single being. By this logic, everything a mind is experiencing in the present can be connected to Mind players.

Now, for such to happen you’d need the proper conditions to establish a link. Thieves and Rouges can do it by force, by stealing the memories. Seers have an enhanced awareness that allows them to perceive their aspects, so by far they’re the best class for making the connection between minds. Or rather, to see the links themselves, and what is it that is keeping them from connecting minds together: A sever, a block, a weak link, links too narrow for information to flow through, y’know, stuff that other classes could fix if they stumbled upon, but can’t see for themselves.

…I went to the bathroom after typing that paragraph and forgot where I was going with this by now :T

Terezi never actually phrased it as “I want to know what happened to my other self.” She doesn’t even use the language of “other self”, and hasn’t since her first post-retcon conversation with John! For her, this is all about remembering, about unlocking barriers in her mind, and now we’re getting confirmation from davepeta that that’s actually a thing people can do.

To say that Terezi is out downloading other versions of herself into her head would be wrong. That might be how, say, Karkat sees it, but under Davepeta’s argument, those “other Terezis” are fundamentally her. Terezi is currently seeing the full existence of who she is and could be, all the various paths of her being, and yes I’m worried about her because her brain might literally explode, but there’s no contradiction there. She’s not becoming multiple Terezis, she’s becoming the ultimate Terezi and I could not be more proud and scared and excited.

So something like Dirk having simultaneous awareness of both his bodies on Earth and in Derse, but across multiple universes.

Ed: I’ve noticed that you, a supposedly loyal soldier of Amestris, are more than okay with the idea of your leader being assassinated. Seems like something that would raise a few eyebrows if it got out, Colonel.
Roy: …Holy shit Hawkeye is this kid dragging me what the hell he can’t do that.

What excellent character interaction. What an excellent manga.
