I thought the babadook was an anime thing until like two weeks ago, I didn’t realize it was from like a recent movie I thought it was from like a mid-2000s anime
this guy on the right, that’s what I thought the babadook was, I don’t know what anime this is but when people reference the babadook that’s who I thought they were talking about
If you didn’t know what to search for then how did you find this picture?
I searched for “grinning anime demon” and scrolled for like a billion years until I found a drawing some kid did of this guy and then I did a Search By Image which told me his name, which I then searched again to find the image on this post. Are you happy you “exposed” how much energy went into my finding a picture of the guy I thought was the babadook? Has this in some way enriched your life?
remember that episode of ned’s survival guide where Ned is struggling with his chemistry grades and they say how when their students fail it means their teachers have failed too
and then they portray it by Ned really trying on his project and his teacher actually seems pleasantly surprised and smiles and gives him a B
that episode increased my respect for teachers so much, that shit made me see my teachers as people
that was some real shit!!! good show. such a good show
See this is a wholesome post which is rare coming from ya and I don’t wanna ruin that, but at the same time I wanna weigh in saying the episode that did the same for me was when he had an itchy crotch and the teacher gave him the baby powder to fix it - ~-
this show ever existing is little more than a fever dream to me? did anybody actually like this show? it was so bitter and hostile and the protagonist literally never came out on top one time. ever. all of the characters were mean and antagonistic, most of the plots revolved around misunderstandings, most of the “humor” was secondhand embarrassment and iirc didn’t a recurring character legit fucking die?
that seemed to have been a heavy recurring theme in Cartoon Network shows at the time.
between this, Camp Lazlo, Squirrel Boy, and god help you; Out of Jimmy’s Head, the humor was so ridiculously mean spirited.
Billy & Mandy was also the same but we were all kind of comfortable with that and it had humor in other capacities.
Lazlo was at least a little ray of sunshine that in the end did prevail over the forces of bitter. Granted, there were no lessons learned anywhere in the show; but everything else had no merits whatsoever.
